Although students of Newcomerstown High School operate WNHS, the radio broadcast is not funded by the Newcomerstown Exempted Village School District. WHNS-LP is funded through grants and the contributions of community sponsors.

Once again WNHS is accepting sponsors for this school year. Because we are a non-profit radio station WNHS cannot air advertisements. However, we acknowledge business contributions to the radio station with brief on-air messages called "underwriting." Underwriting messages consist of the donors’ name, a slogan, address, phone number, or web site. Brand names and a value neutral description of products, goods, and services are also permitted. If your company wishes to change what is said in the underwriting message at any time, contact the school and we will make changes as requested.

No comparative or qualitative statements, price information, calls to action, (to patronize a donor) or repetitive statements are permitted. Donors acknowledgments are aired throughout the day randomly. Donors may sponsor an individual students hour of music if they so desire.

All underwriting is subject to the WNHS-LP Underwriting Policy as well as the underwriting policies of the Federal Communications Commission.
